NE Invitational Rules and Regulations

  • Organizers and or hotel cannot be held liable for: theft, loss, injury by persons attending the nebraska Invitational Dance festival.
  • categories may be merged.
  • Entrants may dance your own age category and one below.
  • All entries must be registered and paid for by June 1, 2008 for prize consideration and publication in the program.
  • Amateur couples will compete at the age category of the youngest competitor.
  • Cancellation policy: 30% until May 15, 2008 no refunds after June 1, 2008.
  • Professional couples will compete in one solo-style heat, of no more than 2 minutes in length, (your own music), if choosen to dance in the finals, (top 6), you will be required to dance once more. This may be a repeat of the initial performance, or you may choose a different dance for the finals. Again music of your choice must be no longer than 2 minutes in length. All professionals may present a dance in American Smooth, rhythm, international standard, or Latin, Cabaret-theatre art or a combination of styles. For prize consideration, remember this is a ballroom competition.
  • Pro-Am and Amateur couples in solo showcase entries must keep their routines to a maximum of 2 minutes 45 seconds.
  • Entries are $15.00 for adults or $10.00 for under 18 years old competitors (juniors).
  • Prize money for top teachers will be calculated accordingly: 1 pt. each entry, 3 pts every 1st place, 2 pts every 2nd, 1 pt every 3rd, uncontested entries may be calculated at a different rate. Professionals whose scores are tied or extremely close, will be selected for prize $$ by the organizer and all decisions are final. Eligibility for 1st prize is 150 entries min., 2nd place- 100 entries, and 3rd - 75 entries.
  • Adjudication in each heat will be at the discretion of the individdual judge, according to generally accepted principles in ballroom dancing. Decisions are final.
  • All persons must comport themselves at the very best examples of ladies, gentlemen, in a sportsmanlike manner.
  • No entries will be accepted without a completely filled out and signed entry form.
